Carmel and Pebble Beach are the jewels of the Peninsula and of course are the highest price areas to buy a home or other real estate. Most properties are in the over a million dollar range. You can pay over a million dollars for a "fixer upper" if it is in the right location with a good lot. In the current market there are a few properties under the million dollar range in Carmel - if you are willing to add on and remodel.
Carmel has a unique charm all it's own. Houses are smaller, double car garages are not common and lots are generally smaller. It is a pedestrian friendly community and if you are within city limits, a short walk to the beach and the downtown area.
Pebble Beach is a gated community where tourists pay to drive thru and take the famous seventeen mile drive tour. Lots are larger as well as homes
